Old Ad Guys™ lights up the Night.
OAG recently completed the development of a website and a spot for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada's Light the Night Campaign. Launching today on World Cancer Day the spot and website invites all Canadians to show their support by placing a light on their virtual map.
"It really came about by finding a way to allow the LLSC Light the Night Walk to come alive online", says Peter Cooke Founder and CEO of OAG. "Blood cancers are the 4 most diagnosed cancers in Canada. There are so many people whose lives have been touched by it including myself. My father passed away due to complications from treatment for Lymphoma in 1984, so when the agency had the opportunity to help build awareness we immediately jumped aboard."
The 45-second video showcases a number of people singing This Little Light of Mine
and holing up their lit phones in support. The spot highlights volunteers, survivors and their families who wanted to add their support and was directed by video director Ben Knechtel. "Ben loved the simplicity of the spot and liked the idea of everyday people singing in support of a cause." Says Peter. "It was a real collaborative effort with the team at the LLCS giving us access to their resources, Shelley Pringle at Polarus Marketing and PR who made the introductions and the guys from Cylinder sound adding music and finishing off the production.
The site, which is accessible from your phone, is clean and simple allows people to add and share their light with others. The goal to fill the map with lights from all across the country and draw more awarenss and attention to blood cancers.
The campaign will extend through to the end of February through various social media channels. The site, allow individuals and corporations to add their light and to make a donation. If you wish to share your light visit http://lightthenight4bloodcancer.ca
